Biography

Horse Culture is a southern gothic punk band from Richmond, VA comprised of Timothy Hawks and Nika McKagen. They collage the gloomiest parts of multiple aggressive genres and package it with warm tones and a meditative reiteration of chords. Their debut album 'House' was released May 26th 2017 digitally worldwide, as well as on limited edition cassette via Furious Hooves.

House seems able to conjure its own atmospheric patterns, unseen forces called forth from homebrew hexes, leaving the listener dazed and amazed, like a torn page that’s been swirled around and left strewn on the ground.

Their deeper exploration into dark and brooding melodies was emphasized in their EP ‘Follow’ which was released September 14th 2018 digitally worldwide, as well as on limited edition cassette. The band did a tour of the east coast and midwest in support of this release in 2018.
